Agreement

By creating an account or using Sotto ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of the Service

Sotto is a personal journaling application that provides daily prompts, journal entry storage, and AI-generated reflections. The Service is designed for personal self-reflection and is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, or medical advice.

Not a therapy service

Sotto is a journaling tool, not a mental health provider. The AI-generated reflections are not therapeutic advice and should not be treated as such. If you are in crisis or need professional support, please contact a qualified mental health professional or call a crisis hotline.

Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • One person per account. Accounts are not transferable.

Free trial & subscription

  • New accounts include a 30-day free trial with full access to all features.
  • After the trial, a paid subscription is required to continue using the Service.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly ($5/month) or annually ($50/year) through Stripe.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Your content

  • You retain full ownership of everything you write in Sotto.
  • We claim no intellectual property rights over your journal entries or responses.
  • You grant us a limited license to store, encrypt, and process your content solely to provide the Service (including sending entries to our AI provider to generate reflections).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service for other users.
  • Use automated means to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.).

Availability & changes

We strive to keep Sotto available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.

Limitation of liability

Sotto is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
